I have to admit, I only watched the highlights of the FIS World Cup that was taking place only a five-minute walk from the television this past weekend in Beitostølen. Watching a classic ski race whose course is six times around a 3.3-kilometer loop just does not draw me away from more interesting things like napping and dryfiring. Add shooting, and it would be thrilling.

Though I did not watch the races with interest, I am very thankful that the World Cup meant that the organizers had to truck and produce snow. Now, thanks to their hard work, there is a perfect 3.3-kilometer loop in Beitostølen. Finally, I can use my new Rossignol skis!

Also, the World Cup brought with it the extravagant group of equipment suppliers. I say extravagant because usually they really like to party. In Norway, I think that maybe the tax on alcohol might keep things a bit more settled. Regardless, I was able to get some new straps for my poles and my boots examined.
